Biography

Starting the South Florida Chapter of Black Women of Essence for Danielle Brown is a dream realized.  She graduated with her Bachelors in English from Florida A&M University and also obtained her Masters Degree in English from National University. Danielle noticed that even as she studied, she longed to make an impact in her surrounding community, committing herself to Young and Striving, National Council for Negro Women, NAACP, Young Black Professionals and was also a continual SGA volunteer on campus.  Her service to the community did not stop when she graduated college.  The need to see children in the community have a since of self became a driving force in her life.

When she moved to Orlando, Florida she maintained her membership in National Council of Negro Women,  and joined Black Women of Essence founded by Renee Ellis in 1999. Danielle then became the Co-Founder of F.R.E.E., Inc. mentoring program and started Black Butterfly dance troupe.  Now that she has moved back home to South Florida, her need to  build-up the community around her has become overwhelming. She aspires to help women heal and find wholeness by holding yearly women's retreats and she plans to help mend the relationship between black men and women in the community by holding an annual "We Appreciate You" conference that honors black men in the community.  Her mission is to heal the community and the soul.
